An exceptional Wi-Fi 6 experience
Wi-Fi 6 improves mass-device connectivity and OFDMA efficiency. Together with beamforming for coverage and BSS coloring to reduce neighbor congestion, Beryl AX fits dense apartments, family streaming, and travel hotspots where airtime is scarce.
Securing your internet in the background
Beryl AX ships with OpenVPN and WireGuard and supports 30+ commercial VPN providers (per AFI WIRELESS). Traffic from every device on the LAN—including guests that cannot run their own VPN app—can be encrypted at the router. Beryl AX can also host VPN servers and supports VPN cascading (forwarding from a VPN server to a VPN client on the same unit).
WireGuard® is a registered trademark of Jason A. Donenfeld.
70+ devices
Wi-Fi 6 scheduling and OFDMA help Beryl AX stay responsive with 70+ clients connected at once—useful for portable offices, short-term rentals, and households with many IoT gadgets.
Smaller than your palm
Beryl AX pairs a 2.5G multi-gigabit WAN with a 1 Gbps LAN port, MediaTek MT7981B dual-core CPU at 1.3 GHz, USB-C power (5 V / 3 A), and USB 3.0 for storage or tethering—an engineering-focused travel form factor at about 196 g.
Runs on OpenWrt 21.02
AFI WIRELESS's SDK-based firmware on OpenWrt 21.02 (Linux kernel 5.4, per product page) offers a guided setup for common users and deep customization for advanced users—browse and install thousands of packages from the admin panel.
Access your local network storage from anywhere
Attach a USB drive and share files over SAMBA and WebDAV. Keep photos and large project files off laptops while still accessing them on the LAN—or combine with VPN server features for remote retrieval when configured appropriately.
DFS in US, UK, Europe & Japan
DFS approval lets the 5 GHz radio use additional channels normally reserved for radar-class services, which can reduce congestion in noisy environments when your region allows it.
Multiple layers of security
Get your 5G network up and running
Pair Beryl AX with the GL-M2 development board for a USB-attached 5G modem path (SIM slot on M2), including multi-WAN failover and load balancing when you need cellular where Wi-Fi alone is not enough.
