AFI WIRELESS's first dual-band Wi-Fi 7 travel router
Slate 7 is built for faster, more stable connectivity on the road: dual 2.5G ports for demanding sessions, Wi-Fi 7 with MLO and refined OFDMA for crowded airspace, and an interactive touchscreen so guests can join Wi-Fi from a QR code without typing passwords—ideal for hotels, cafés, events, and mobile offices.
Touchscreen control
Scan QR codes for instant guest Wi-Fi, monitor throughput, toggle VPN on/off, switch between preferred VPN profiles, and read color-coded status for Ethernet, tethering, repeater, and cellular-style uplinks—all without opening the admin UI for common tasks.
Wi-Fi 7 & OpenWrt
AFI WIRELESS markets up to about 3.6 Gbps aggregate wireless performance and support for 120+ concurrent devices using enhanced OFDMA. AdGuard Home, DNS encryption, 30+ VPN integrations, and an OpenWrt 23.05-based image (kernel 5.4.x per AFI WIRELESS copy) keep the stack flexible for ad blocking, scripts, and travel-specific workflows.
USB 3.0 Type-A adds tethering, storage sharing on the road, and offline file swap for travel groups.
How people use Slate 7
What beta testers are saying
The touchscreen makes guest Wi-Fi sharing comfortable; per-profile VPN toggles are a nice touch versus one global switch.
@LupusE
Screen is genuinely useful for connect/reset/disconnect flows—and the industrial design feels like a step up for AFI WIRELESS travel hardware.
@Mniko
Travel-friendly USB-C power, USB for tether/storage, and both OpenVPN and WireGuard—touchscreen keeps status visible at a glance.
@CookieP71
Rock solid across hotels and airports; strong signal even one floor below the room.
@Aargvark
Standout aesthetics and performance—effortless setup and reliable range for a compact unit.
